Kalyan – A 24-year-old man named Mohsin Sheikh (24) has been booked by the Khadakpada police following a complaint by a 24-year-old working woman from Kalyan, alleging that he had been stalking her for the past month, demanding that she love him, and threatening to kill her if she refused.
The victim resides in Kalyan West and works in a commercial complex in the same area. The accused, Mohsin Sheikh, lives in the Sindhigate area of Kalyan. The victim and the accused met through a mobile number obtained from the Non-Food Vertex WhatsApp group. For the past month, the accused had been stalking the victim and pressuring her to accept his love, but she consistently rejected him.
According to the police, the acquaintance between the accused and the victim began through the WhatsApp group, during which Mohsin gained her trust. He confessed his love for her and offered to drop her home daily on his bike, proposing that they go out together. When she refused, he threatened to kill her.
Whenever the victim left her house for work or returned home, the accused would follow her, insisting she go out with him. On one such occasion, while following her, the accused stopped her, grabbed her hand, and molested her, according to the police.
The victim, distressed by this harassment for the past month, informed her family about the incidents. With the support of her family, she filed a complaint at the Khadakpada police station. Under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Dr. A. R. Waghmode, Police Sub-Inspector P. B. Sable is investigating the case. Some women's organizations have demanded strict action against the accused.
